Mistake-an error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge, etc. If given the chance would you correct past mistakes. Do you learn from them and resolve to do better? Is there a point of no return? Should degrees be applied to the offense? Let’s start with the definition; a mistake is an error, the word error as defined by dictionaty.com is the belief in something untrue. This alone tells us that quite a few mistakes are being made daily if not every minute of the day. I was a pastor for 15 years and I know when something is believed yet it is untrue; such as the world coming to an end on a known date in time. Poor is defined as deficient or lacking in something specified and Reasoning means sound judgment or good sense. This is why second chances should be afforded depending on certain stages in life we may be deficient or lacking something to make sound decisions. I’m not making excuses just presenting the basis for correcting mistakes. Carelessness means not exact, accurate, or thorough. How many times have you been off when calculating how much money you needed for groceries, a pair of shoes or what time you needed to be at the bus stop? Insufficient is not sufficient; lacking in what is necessary or required and Knowledge means acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation. What’s the point of this post? We should better prepare ourselves to make good sound choices in life which in turn persuades us to make fewer mistakes.
